Things you may want to bring
Packing Tips
The question "do I have all I need?" is very common for students to ask themselves before leaving home. Here is a list of what Laurier students have found to be essential in residence:
Bathroom Items
- Hair dryer/ hair straightener

- Bath Towel/ Hand towels/ Face cloth
- Robe
- Medicine Cabinet Items
- Soap/ Shampoo/ Toothpaste/ Toiletries/ Kleenex
- Shower Caddy (to carry your items to shower) and flip flops
Bedroom Items
- Decorations (Posters, pictures, area rug, etc.)
- Tacks for Bulletin board, and masking tape to put up posters, etc.
- Bed Sheets/ Comforter/ Pillow/ Mattress Topper
- Alarm Clock
- Clothing for Fall, Winter, and Spring/Clothes Hangers
Social Items
- DVD's
- iPod or other music
- Snacks
- Personal Recreation Items (frisbee, football, rollerblades)
- Purple and Gold wear- our school colours (for football games and other Laurier events)
- Red, Green, Gold, Blue items you have already for Orientation Week ( Each First Year Student who registers for Orientation Week is put onto one of these colour teams. You will find out your colour team, when you pick up you residence keys on Move in Day)
- Book bag/ Backpack
- Binders
- Calculator
- Computer/ Printer/ Powerbar
- Desk Lamp (no Halogen bulbs)
- Ear Plugs to study or sleep
- Day Planner
- Class schedule print out (You will need this to pick up your One Card)
- Paper/ Pens/ Highlighters/ Clipboard (Can be purchased at the Bookstore on campus)
Personal Items
- Sin # and Photo Identification (need the Photo ID to pick up One Card)
- Bank Account information
Other
- Laundry Bag (you will get one when you register for Orientation Week) or Laundry basket
- Laundry Detergent
- Rain gear and umbrella
- Fan
