Welcome future Golden Hawks! My name is Dion and I’m currently in my second year at Laurier and I am so excited that you are considering Laurier. You are starting one of the greatest adventures of your life and I hope you enjoy seeing what this school has to offer.

I learned so much during my first year. Moving from high school to university can be a big step. I took the time to learn more about myself, learned so many invaluable lessons, and met the most amazing people; resources that I know will help me succeed at Laurier. I’m so excited see what my second year has to teach me! Getting involved is the most exhilarating experience and I wish that everyone has the opportunity to try it. This year I will be a Shinerama volunteer for Orientation week, the Social Coordinator for the Laurier Music Association, and a Laurier Student Ambassador. I’m also very excited to participate in my very first Winter Carnival!

I am currently studying Music and planning to enter the Piano Performance stream. I am also pursuing a minor in Math. I spent some of my first year trying to refine my study habits and getting used to the university work load. Lectures can be scary but there are lots of resources on campus to help you manage your time and work.

Choosing Laurier can be great but it’s what we do here that makes our choice and experience even greater!
