BI110 - Unifying Life Processes
Required textbook for BI110 - Unifying Life Processes (Fall 2013):
Biology: Exploring the Diversity of Life, 2nd Canadian Edition (2013). Russell, Hertz, McMillan, Fenton, Addy, Maxwell, Haffie, Milsom. Nelson Education Ltd.
Important note to students taking BI110 in Fall 2013 (and BI111 in Winter 2014).
We will be using the 2nd Canadian Edition of Biology: Exploring the Diversity of Life again this year. If you are considering buying a used copy of the book, please be aware that used textbooks WILL NOT provide you with access to the required on-line resources that are associated with the textbook. If you purchase a used book, you will also have to purchase on-line access separately.
When purchasing a NEW book, you will have the choice of two options:
OPTION #1 (Print + Online): When purchasing a new print edition of the textbook from the Bookstore, you will also receive a code (included inside the book) for on-line access to Aplia (the publisher's on-line supplemental material that will be used for tutorials in BI110), on-line access to Virtual Biology Labs (which will be used in BI111, and may also be used in BI110), as well as access to the electronic version of the textbook. This package will cost $173.95 at the WLU Bookstore.
OPTION #2 (Online only): This package does NOT include a print copy of the textbook, but the on-line access for this option is the same as for option #1. That is, you get a code that gives you on-line access to Aplia (the publisher's on-line supplemental material that will be used for tutorials), on-line access to Virtual Biology Labs (which will be used in BI111, and may also be used in BI110), as well as on-line access to the electronic version of the textbook. The cost of this package will be $109.95 from the WLU Bookstore.
Again, please keep in mind that used books DO NOT include access to the required on-line material. Therefore, if you purchase a used book, you will also have to purchase Option#2, above (so consider the price of the used book+option#2 before agreeing to buy a used book!).
