2011 iPhone app competition
CP469- iPhone Application Programming was offered for the second time at Laurier during Winter 2011. At the end of the term, students presented their final projects before a panel of three judges. The projects were made during the last four weeks of the course.
First prize went to Fahad Khan and Oleksiy Okrushko for their WordClash app. Second prize went to Brendan Stennett for the app SkateVersus. In addition, the following apps were awarded with the Special Mention distinction: QuoteCheck (Will Schuurman and Rahim Jiwani), The Timers (Glenn Vording), and Waste Bin Locator (Sunny Chan and Chris Dineen).
The judges were Kimberly Barber (Associate Professor, Faculty of Music), Tamas Dobozy (Associate Dean, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies), Paul Jessop ( Dean, Faculty of Science), Willi Powell (Strategic Development Manager, Higher Education, Apple Canada), Nora Znotinas (Chair, Department of Physics and Computer Science). Prizes were donated by Enflick, Inc. (iPad 2) and Apple (Apple jackets). We thank Enflick and Apple for their support.
