Keynote Speaker - Alison Morrison
Alison is currently Professor in Hospitality Management at the School of Management, Surrey University.
Until 2009, she was Vice-Dean (Research) of the Strathclyde Business School at the University of Strathclyde. Prior to this she was Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Alison has been publishing extensively and teaching since 1984, primarily in her specialist area of small and entrepreneurial hospitality and tourism businesses. She has authored a wide range of journal papers and books related to entrepreneurship. Within the field of hospitality key contributions have been made through the co-edited books In Search of Hospitality and Hospitality a Social Lens.
Evidence of the esteem in which Alison is held is provided in the wide range of visiting and external appointments that demonstrate her academic standing at both national and international level. Most recent is as a Visiting Professor at the University of Otago, New Zealand. She has taught entrepreneurship in hospitality and tourism extensively overseas at universities in, for example, Austria, the Netherlands, Finland, Canada, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Australia, Lapland, Iran and Mauritius.
