Teaching Assistantships for 2012/2013

A full 1.0 TA is 130 hours of work in a term, including any preparatory time required by the student.

A 0.5 TA is 65 hours of work in a term, including any preparatory time required by the student.

Instructors are responsible for insuring that TAs work no more than the required number of hours, and that all work is related to the course.

Work can entail laboratory teaching, marking, exam proctoring, laboratory preparation, etc.

Dr. Bill McTeer is KPE’s TA mentor.  Dr. McTeer will meet with TA’s throughout the term to discuss issues related to teaching.  In addition, if there are any difficulties or problems that arise while TAing, students should feel free to contact Dr. McTeer.

Educational Development has a Teaching Assistant's Handbook.  Click Here for Handbook
