Information Sessions for Graduate Students on Applying for Scholarships

The Laurier Writing Centre is offering workshops for graduate students applying to SSHRC, OGS, or NSERC for the academic year 2012-2013.

The Writing Center will be offering an information session for KPE Graduate students on the following date:

Wednesday September 19, 1-2:30pm DAWB 1-101A

The writing centre is also offering workshops to students on how to write a statement of interest for scholarship applications.  Their workshops run during the weeks of September 19 and 26.

For details about the grant proposal workshops, please visiting our website: www.wlu.ca/writing

For general information or to make an appointment, call the Writing Centre at (519) 884-0710 ext. 2220.

If you are interested in applying, the departmental deadlines are as follows:

NSERC - October 9

SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship/CGS Scholarship Doctoral Awards - October 17

SSHRC CGS Master's Awards - November 13

This year we will also be implementing a new deadline.  Prior to beginning the application, any individual who wants to apply for one of these scholarships must inform our administrative assistant of their intentions by September 18th.  The admin assistant will then calculate each student's GPA in order to determine if the GPA meets the criteria for the scholarship in question.  The admin assistant will inform each student within a few days if the GPA is in an acceptable range.
