Biological and Chemical Sciences (PhD)

Laurier has a rolling admissions process for all MBA programs. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. For more information regarding Toronto programs, contact Maureen Ferraro. An application for admission to the MBA program must include:

  1. a completed application (applicants must submit the printed (pdf) Application Summary available from the online application);
  2. a completed Personal Information Form - MBA;
  3. a resumé of your academic and work experience; your resume should account for all periods of time; note if work is full or part-time and whether it is managerial;
  4. official transcripts and degree certificates (where applicable) of all undergraduate and graduate work; applicants presenting international credentials must provide literal translations and an official credential assessment; 
  5. completed reference forms; 3 references are required, at least one reference must be academic and one must be professional; if you have not completed a university course in the last five years, all three of your references may be professional;
  6. evidence of quantitative skills is required for admission to the MBA program; normally this is demonstrated by a minimum score of 550 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT); the GMAT requirement may be waived with evidence of quantitative skills normally shown by successful completion of a current (within the last five years) university-level course in calculus or statistics with a grade of B+ (77%) or better (only considered if all other admission requirements are met or exceeded); GMAT is recommended to strengthen an application; GMAT is mandatory for all international applicants, and for those applicants whose previous academic degree(s) were completed outside of Canada;
  7. for international applicants, an official statement of your acceptable English-language test results;
  8. if you are a Permanent Resident, evidence of your status in Canada is required; you must provide a photocopy of your signed "Record of Landing" or photocopies of both sides of your Permanent Resident card.

General Graduate Student (non-degree seeking)

General graduate students are students possessing an honours bachelor's degree or equivalent who are taking one or more graduate courses for credit but are not proceeding to a degree or a diploma at Laurier. Such students are admitted at the discretion of the dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in consultation with the program co-ordinator. Courses taken by general graduate students are not normally intended to be used for credit toward a degree in a graduate program at Laurier.

An application for admission to the PhD program in Global Governance must include:

  7. a sample of your scholarly writing (no more than 25 pages in length); this may be a chapter of your master's thesis or a paper written for a graduate course; note that this document will not be returned to you;
