MA students in History take research and historiographical seminars offered by the Tri-University Graduate Program in History (Laurier, Waterloo, and Guelph), and complete a significant piece of original scholarship on a topic of their choice under the direction of a Laurier historian.

Eligible students admitted to study on a full-time basis for each year of study are given a competitive funding package.
Guaranteed minimum financial support: $13,000
Such support may be made up of:
- teaching assistantships,
- internal and/or external scholarship award,
- research assistantships.
Major award holders (OGS, CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) are eligible for the Dean's Scholarship, valued at up to $7,500.
