Perspectives on Academic Freedom Conference 2012

Matters of academic freedom are important to the credibility of universities and the research they support. It is also important that we establish new and innovative partnerships to serve society.
To enable international experts to analyze and comment, President Max Blouw of Wilfrid Laurier University and President Feridun Hamdullahpur of the University of Waterloo co-hosted with the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada a public conference in September, 2012 to address academic freedom in the context of partnership agreements. Speakers included governance experts, representatives of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) and the broader academic community.
