Founded in Brantford in February 2014, McArthur McKim Creative Ltd is a Canadian-owned and operated trade book and ebook publisher and exporter of quality Canadian and international fiction, non-fiction, and games for adults and children in Canada and internationally. Kim McArthur founded McArthur McKim after closing her previous publishing firm, McArthur & Company in June 2013. She is the founding President & Publisher of Little, Brown Canada (1987-1998) and McArthur & Company (1998-2013).
Ms. McArthur holds an Honours B.A. in English and History (gold medallist) from the University of Western Ontario, and a B.Ed. from Althouse College. Prior to her career in publishing, she taught at Oakwood Collegiate Institute in Toronto from 1976-1981.
Ms. McArthur was awarded the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001, the Consumers Choice Award Businesswoman of the Year for Toronto/GTA in 2005, the Women's Executive Network's (WXN) Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada in the entrepreneur category in 2007, The International Alliance of Women's Top 100 Women Who Make a Difference in 2009 (TIAW--presented at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC), and was on the Profit Top 100 list of Canadian Women Business Owners for 10 years, from 1999 through 2009 inclusive.
