Henri Rothschild, President & CEO, ISTP Canada
Dr. Henri Rothschild has over 30 years of leadership experience in the planning and execution ofnational and global science and technology (S&T) initiatives that address Canadian innovation objectives. He is currently President & CEO of International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada (ISTPCanada), an organization he helped to create in 2007 and the Canada-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (CIIRDF), which he has managed since its inception in 1994.
Prior to CIIRDF, Dr. Rothschild held a number of positions of increasing responsibilities associated with the management and commercialization of research, reaching the level of Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Technology, and later Chief Scientist at Industry Canada. Included among his many responsibilities over his public service career are being a Canadian member of the scientific participation to the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) 1974-81, Vice President of the Board of Trustees and founding member of the International Human Frontiers Science Program ( HFSP ), as well as having held leading positions in many other international organizations such as the OECD. In December 1999, Dr. Rothschild received the 10 year HFSP Anniversary medal at a ceremony held at the White House in Washington D.C. Dr. Rothschild has a Bachelor of Science from the Université de Montréal, and a Masters and PhD of Science in bionucleonics from Purdue University.
