Jim is the Corporate Director of Human Resources for Enbridge Inc., based in Calgary, Alberta. Jim is responsible for the effective delivery of human resources services in Enbridge’s corporate head office. Prior to joining Enbridge Jim led the HR function at North American Energy Partners Inc., a large civil/earthworks contractor based in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role Jim led the development of a professional HR function which supported significant business and cultural transformation from a small family-owned construction business into a large multi business unit, publicly traded, geographically dispersed organization which earned accolades as a top Alberta employer in 2011 and 2012. Jim supported several acquisitions, a joint venture and the implementation of leading edge HR systems, including an integrated talent management technology platform. Prior HR experience included roles with Labatt Breweries of Canada and Ford Motor Company of Canada.
Jim received an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2000 and a Master of Industrial Relations degree from Queen’s University in 2001. Jim has also attended Executive development programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business and Harvard Business School. Jim is an active community member, coaching minor hockey and lacrosse for the several years and serving as School Council Chair at his children’s elementary school. Jim joined the School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council in 2013.
