David Sutherland
Mr. Sutherland earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business. In July 2007, Mr. Sutherland retired as president and chief executive officer of the former IPSCO, Inc. after spending thirty years with the company and more than five years as president and chief executive officer. Mr. Sutherland is a director of GATX Corporation, United States Steel Corporation, Imperial Oil Limited and a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Sutherland is a former chairman of the American Iron and Steel Institute and served as a member of the board of directors of the Steel Manufacturers Association, the International Iron and Steel Institute, the Canadian Steel Producers Association and the National Association of Manufacturers.
