Teaching Evaluations

Teaching evaluations are conducted once per term.  The evaluation form consists of a series of questions which students are asked to consider and rate on a scale of 1 to 7, with 1 representing unsatisfactory and 7 representing excellent.

The evaluation results are used by the University in the assessment of teaching performance, such as consideration of applications for further appointment, promotion, tenure, teaching awards or other recognition.  They may also be used in disciplinary proceedings.  This is an important way for you to have a voice in the evaluation process of your educational experiences at Laurier.

Your completed questionnaire is placed in a sealed envelope, which is not opened until final grades for the course have been submitted to the Registrar’s Office.  The evaluations are sent to the Computing Centre where the data is aggregated.  A copy of the aggregated data is sent to the faculty member and to his/her Official File.  Your participation is voluntary and anonymous.
