Hosted by The Penderecki String Quartet, Laurier's Quartet-in-Residence

QUARTETFEST Host Faculty
Approaching the third decade of an extraordinary career, the Penderecki String Quartet has become one of the most celebrated chamber ensembles of their generation. The Quartet's performing schedule takes them annually to the great concert stages of North and South America, Europe, and the Far East.

Masterclasses

Over the course of the Festival each guest quartet will give two masterclasses; Denis Brott and each member of the PSQ will give one.

 QUARTETFEST Participants receive:

  • Your own dedicated studio for the duration of the event
  • Masterclasses with the Penderecki String Quartet and with Guest Quartets
  • One-hour per week individual lesson with members of the Penderecki String Quartet
  • Opportunity to perform in at least two student concerts
  • Tickets to performances by The Penderecki String Quartet and by other Guest Quartets
  • On-campus accommodation in Laurier's modern residences

This concert features the Slava Quartet (winners of the PSQ Chamber Music Prize) and the PSQ with Denis Brott performing Schubert's mighty String Quintet.
June 6 - Young Artists Concert 2 @ KWCMS Music Room
