Communication Studies Students in New York City Jan09

Communications Student Association [CSA]

It's that time of the year again! The Communication Students Association is excited to announce that we are hiring some enthusiastic and energetic students for the 2014-2015 executive team (2nd, 3rd or 4th year students). Over the past couple years at Laurier we have planned and attended many events with CSA and hope to excite and entice more students to get involved.

The CSA is a student run organization that helps to ameliorate the academic and social experience of students in the Communication Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. By organizing a number of events including Meet the Professors Night and Careers in Communications Night, the CSA helps to connect students with their professors and the outside professional world. This past term, we successfully travelled to New York City with a group of 54 arts students to explore the world of communications beyond the classroom. It was a great success and a remarkable experience for all students involved and we're hoping to transfer this success into the new year!

This year, we are taking a new approach to hiring and asking that you apply to a general application which is included at the bottom of this email. If selected, you will be in one of the following positions:

Events team: Each events team consisting of 2 people (4 event teams in total) will be in charge of spearheading an event with help from the rest of the CSA members. In order for you to be fully involved as possible you will be in charge of the advertising, event planning and submitting expense forms. This hands on experience will give you skills to succeed in the world of event planning. 8 events people will be hired.

Social Media team: The social media team will be fully responsible for both the CSA Twitter and Facebook pages. In this role you will be in charge of posting a minimum of 3 posts a week and respond to inquires from other students. 2 social media people will be hired.

Promotions Team: The promotions team is responsible for supporting the events team and the social media team as need be. This will include spreading the word about upcoming events or CSA initiatives. 8 people will be hired.
