Communication Studies Students in New York City Jan09

Communications Student Association [CSA]

Hello Everyone,

We're excited to announce the Communications Student Association is hosting their annual Meet the Professors night:

Thursday, October 25 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, in the Wilf's Den.
We'd like to extend the invitation to all WLU Communication Studies majors and Faculty members to come out to our fall social to interact with one another outside of the classroom setting. Food and beverages will be provided for all that attend.

Students, here are some of the reasons why we believe you should attend:

  • You have the opportunity to network with your professors outside of the classroom setting and interact with them in an informal setting

  • You can discuss possible courses within Communications that you would be interested in taking in future semesters

  • Meeting your professors is an awesome opportunity to seek volunteer positions and opportunities within the Communications Program

  • Aside from meeting faculty members, you also have the opportunity to meet some great students!

  • Did we mention free food?

This is also a great opportunity for CS faculty members  to meet students in an informal setting to get feedback on course material.  This may also be an opportunity to find out what students are most interested in learning within the various courses you teach.

All are welcome to pop by between the hours of 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm as this event is very informal. We hope that you are all planning to attend!

Message from 2012-2013 Co-Presidents and executive positions available for the 2012-2013 school year:

Hello Everyone!

We'd like to take some time to introduce ourselves as the new CSA Presidents for the 2012-2013 school year. We, Anastasia Ivaniv and Hollie Stoyles, are Communication Studies students entering third year and we are excited to take on the role as co-presidents to continue create, plan and attend events that will benefit students socially and academically. Over the past couple years at Laurier we have planned and attended many events with CSA and hope to excite and entice more students to get involved. With that being said we are proud to announce we are hiring some enthusiastic and energetic students for the 2012-2013 executive team.

The CSA is a student run organization that helps to ameliorate the academic and social experience of students in the Communication Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. By organizing a number of events including Meet the Professors Night and Careers in Communications Night, the CSA helps to connect students with their professors and the outside professional world. This year the CSA is planning a New York trip for Communications students which has been a great success and a remarkable experience for all students in the past. We are already planning for the 2012-2013 school year and hope that all of you will come out and represent WLU's Communication Studies program!

The following is a list of executive positions available for the 2012-2013 school year:

Second Year Promotions (3 positions available for students entering their second year):

In meetings, they are also responsible for the input of any ideas or thoughts that they might have regarding future events and the future of the CSA.
