Student Involvement

Students are actively involved in my research program from the doctoral level, masters, and undergraduates. I work closely with students mentoring them in my Poverty Reduction and Indigenous Health and Social Justice research programs. As is evidenced by my publications students are actively engaged in research, writing and publication with me. Many students are first authors in my publications and participate actively in my community engaged scholarship and presentations. I teach and supervise an increasing number of Aboriginal students who are moving through to successful career paths in medical school and in further graduate studies at the doctoral level. Students currently run my research labs and mentor undergraduate students in community engaged scholarship. If you are interested in working with the Indigenous Health and Social Justice Research Group please send Dr. Mitchell a message expressing your interest.
