Inclusive Excellence Certificate Program
The Diversity & Equity Office (DEO) is pleased to launch the workshop series for this year's Inclusive Excellence Certificate Program. The goal of this certificate is to engage Laurier staff and faculty in conversations about diversity and equity and to provide resources, knowledge, and tools required to make Laurier an inclusive campus.
To obtain the certificate, you must attend/complete 4 workshops (not including the Educating for Equity & Social Justice conference).
Panel Discussion: "Researching for Equity & Social Justice"
(Part of the Inclusive Excellence Certificate Program)
This panel will engage audience in exploring issues of ethics, values, representation, equity, and social justice as they pertain to how we conduct research and produce knowledge.
The panel will be moderated by Shawna Reibling (Knowledge Mobilization Officer, Office of Research Services) and will include the following presentations: "Native Informing in an Age of Terror" (Dr. Shahnaz Khan, Professor Women and Gender Studies/Global Studies), "Community-based Participatory Action Research for Social Justice" (Dr. Geoffrey Nelson, Professor of Psychology), and "Equity Issues in Research from an Aboriginal Perspective."
