Roles and Responsibilities:

Acts as liaison and advisor between faculty and the equity office.

Initiates with outreach efforts to all faculty on employment equity issues.

Assists individual faculty members in addressing concerns about equitable treatment.

Assists with the maintenance of the manual, “A Checklist of Actions and Responsibilities for Department (or equivalent) Appointment and Promotion Committees.”

Assists with the planning, preparation and delivery of the annual workshop on employment equity policies and procedures (article 22.6 – WLUFA).

Assists with the development of the annual equity report and any additional compliance reports.

Assists with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the employment equity plan.

Actively promotes equity within the university and assists with awareness campaigns and equity related projects.

Assists with the statistical analysis of faculty equity data.
-
Advises on the development and implementation of a plan for faculty compliance with the university’s employment equity goals.

Acts as a resource person to the Joint University/Association Employment Equity Advisory Committee and the University/Association Employment Equity Advisory Committee.
