Welcome to the website for EC238 (Section A) Fall 2013!

Announcements:

Midterm exam will be held in class on October 17 (Thursday). As I mentioned in last class, midterm exam will cover Ch 1 to Ch 5, inclusive, of the textbook (4th, 5th, or 6th edition). Exam will be 1 hour and 15 minutes long. It will have the following THREE parts:

Part A: 20 out of 20 mutiple choice questions 20* 1 = 20 marks

Part B: 2 out of 2 'True/False/Uncertain with explanation' type questions or short questions  2 * 5 = 10 marks

Part C: 2 out of 2 multi-part problem solving questions  2*10 = 20 marks

To prepare for the exam, I strongly recommend you to work out  the optional assignments (1, 2, and 3) which are posted on the website. You should also study the textbook and go through the lecture slides and your class lecture notes carefully.  In particular, you should make sure that you understand all of the models with a graphical explanation.

You will need a pen, pencil, and non-programmable calculator to write this exam. You can draw the diagrams with a pencil. But you must the write your answers to the exam questions, excluding the diagrams, with a pen.
