Midterm exam will be held tomorrow (Oct 21) in class. Exam will cover Ch 12 to Ch 14 and only Pages 382-388 and 392-399 of Ch 15 (8th edition). Exam will be 1 hour and 10 minutes long. It will have the following three parts:
Part A: 20 multiple choice questions 1*30 = 30 marks
Part B: 1 out of 2 'True/False/Uncertain with explanation' type questions or short questions 1*10 = 10 marks
Part C: 1 multi-part problem solving questions 1*20 = 20 marks
To prepare for the exam I srongly recommend you to work out the optional assignments (1, 2 and 3) which are posted on the course website. However, for the midterm exam preparation you can ignore the questions which are based on the materials that not covered in the midterm exam. For example, for the midterm exam you do not have to do Question A3 and A4 of Assignment 2.

Final Exam will be held in Athletic Complex on Dec 15 from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Exam will cover the materials from Ch 12 to Ch 18 (8th edition), inclusive, including Appendix to Chapter 13 (8th edition), Appendix to Chapter 15 (8th edition) and Appendix 1 & 2 to Chapter 17 (8th edition). In addition, the exam will cover two additional materials - Appendix I to Chapter 16 (6th edition) and Appendix II to Chapter 17 (6th edition) - which are posted on the course webiste.
Please note that Appendix 1 to Chapter 16 (8th edition), Appendix 2 to Chapter 16 (8th edition), Chapter 19 and 20 will NOT be covered in the final exam.

Part C: 2 multi-part problem solving/ analytical questions 2*10 = 20 marks
To prepare for the exam I srongly recommend you to work out all of the optional assignments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) which are posted on the course website. However, for the final exam preparation you can ignore the questions which are based on the materials that are not included in the final exam. For example, for the final exam you do NOT have to do Question A4, A5 and A6 of Assignment 7 and Question 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 of Assignment 8. In addition to working out the optional assignments, you must study your class lecture notes and posted lecture slides, and read the textbook carefully. In particular, you should make sure that you understand all of the models with a graphical explanation. You should also go through the solutions to the midterm exam which is posted on the course website.
