Haiti Digital Mentoring Project

April 21, 2011 ObserverXtra: <click here>

The Digital Mentoring Project involves school leaders and university faculty in Haiti, Canada, and the United States.  Principals use a variety of technologies (texting/BBM, on-line resources, Skype) to discuss current educational leadership issues and to “co-mentor” each other. The DMP project has been supported by donations from Research in Motion and grants from Wilfrid Laurier University.

A goal of the project is to support the leadership capacity of Haitian principals and to mobilize them for their work in Haiti.  Canadian principals have the opportunity to learn about the opportunities and challenges of teaching in Haiti and, as a result, to develop a broader global perspective.
