Job history:

For the last 2 years I have been Dr. MacLatchy’s Research Coordinator.  I assist with her research in the field of reproductive endocrinology using estuary mummichog (Fundulus heteroclitus) as our model species.

Before coming back to Laurier, I worked as a research technician at the Canadian Rivers Institute at the University of New Bruswick for Dr. Kelly Munkittrick.  I collected data for blacknose dace (Rhinichthys atratulus) growth and reproductive patterns to assess their applicability to Environmental Effects Monitoring fish surveys.  I also collected both temperature and fish data for an ongoing project to detect potential effects of temperature on slimy sculpin (Cottus cognatus) condition in the New Brunswick area.

Title of project:  Contaminant effects on endocrine (hormone) systems in mummichog

Supervisor(s)/Lab: Dr. Deborah MacLatchy

Start date: August 2007
