This award is given to the student who attains the highest marks in the second
year of the Honours Computing and Computer Electronics program.

The Dom Cardillo Scholarship
This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students entering
first year who are a resident of Kitchener or Waterloo with a minimum final
average of 80% in the best six grade 12 U courses, demonstrated leadership
qualities, and participation in school or community activities.

Dr. John E. Brent Scholarship
The Dr. John E. Brent Scholarship is available to full-time students in the
third year of a computer science program. Dr. Brent, now deceased, was a
chairman of the Board of IBM Canada Ltd. He graduated from the University
in 1929, and received a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa from WLU in 1966. In
1980, he established a number of scholarships at Laurier, including this
one.

Dr. W. J. Villaume Scholarship
Students with outstanding academic achievement who have
participated in an international program or have come to Laurier from another
country.

Elizabeth Wang Mathematics Scholarship
Awarded annually, this scholarship is given to a student entering the second
year of an honours mathematics program who has achieved the highest overall
standing in Mathematics 101, 102, 121, and 122, taken in the previous year,
with an overall grade point average of at least 9.0 in a minimum of five
credits. (Students in the combined Honours Computer Science and Mathematics
program are eligible.)

Two G & A Masonry awards are given each year to second, third, or fourth
year students with good academic standing and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal

This scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students entering second
year for their academic achievement and leadership skills as demonstrated

Ross and Doris Dixon Special Needs Volunteer Award
This award recognizes the important role that volunteers play in creating a
positive environment for students with special needs. Candidates for the
award are judged on both the quantity and quality of their voluntary contributions.

Scotia Bank Group Scholarship Fund
Two Scotia Bank Group scholarships are presented each year to students in their
second, third, or fourth year who have a record of high academic achievement.

The Shell Canada Scholarship
Shell Canada awards are given annually to two students enrolled in a Science
program at Laurier. The recipients must be in the second year of their studies,
have achieved a minimum grade point average of 10.00 in their first year,
and be making a contribution to campus or community life. The award can be
renewed in the third and fourth years, provided the student maintains a GPA
of 9.00.

Sims Scholarship in Science and Technology
Established by the Sims family to encourage young women to continue their studies
in science and mathematics, this award is presented annually to a student
entering the second year of and honours program in science, mathematics,
physics or computer science. Preference is given to female students who have
leadership abilities, good academic standing, and are making a contribution
to university or community life. Mrs. Sims is a former chair of Laurier's
Board of Governors.

SUN Life Financial "Bright Future" Award
This scholarship is awarded to students in a double degree program with good academic standing and been involved in extra curricular activities on campus and in extensive volunteer
work in the wider community.

SUN Microsystems of Canada Computer Science Scholarship I
This scholarship is given to students in the Honours Computer Science program
or the Honours BBA/Honours Computer Science double degree program. The recipients
must be in the second year of their studies, have achieved a minimum grade
point average of 9.5 in all computer science courses taken in their first
year and be judged to have demonstrated a sincere interest in and commitment
to pursuing a career within the field of computing.

SUN Microsystems of Canada Computer Science Scholarship II
This scholarship is given to students in the Honours Computer Science program
or the Honours BBA/Honours Computer Science double degree program. The recipients
must be in the third year of their studies, have achieved a minimum grade
point average of 9.5 in all computer science courses taken in their first
two years and be judged to have demonstrated a sincere interest in and commitment
to pursuing a career within the field of computing.

Viessman International Scholarship Fund
The aim of this scholarship fund is to financially help WLU students who
want to study at an institution abroad as part of an exchange program or as
an independent study.

William Adams Caldwell Award
Awarded to students who have completed Year 3
of an honours program in the School of Business and Economics or Faculty of
Science with a minimum cumulative GPA of 10.00 (A-). While the emphasis
was on academic excellence, students are also judged upon overall citizenship.
Award alternates between the School of Business and Economics and the Faculty
of Science.

in BU440, based on originality and the potential for the project to be implemented

This award is given to a third or fourth year student in the School of Business
and Economics in finance and/or accounting with a minimum grade point average
