Dubai, U.A.E

Hey everyone! My name is Nishwa Narsighani and I am an international student from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Although I am Pakistani by nationality,
I have spent most of my life in Saudi Arabia as well as in the U.A.E. It’s an honour to be the Lead International Ambassador and I am so excited to work with our team of amazing ambassadors to make this year one to remember!

Like many international students, I never visited Canada before and wasn’t able to tour any of the university campuses. I must admit, in the beginning it felt very intimidating trying to make a decision about what to do without a ‘feel’ of what the campus was like.

It was nerve wracking all the way until the first time I set foot in the university. Then I knew that choosing Wilfrid Laurier University was the best decision I’d made. I was blown away by how welcoming everyone was. There was so much life and energy all over the campus, and it was so contagious that I was immediately captured by it! It had immediately become a place I call home.
In the time I have spent here I have learned so much and have enjoyed
being a part of the great community we have.

I think Laurier is an exceptional university known for its distinguished reputation of academic excellence, strong community spirit and striking enthusiasm.
The university has many different programs and specialisations to choose from. That, combined with a wide range of club activities and career opportunities allows students to involve themselves in an all-rounded and unique university experience. You will easily be able to find an abundance of opportunities to nurture your talents and interests. There is something for everybody! During our clubs fair, it felt like I signed up for half of all the clubs there!
Now I feel it has come full circle, because I was at the clubs fair this year representing a club that I founded called The Social Innovation Project!

'In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years'

--Abraham Lincoln.

So I hope to welcome you as a Golden Hawk and that you can fill your years at Laurier with as much life as possible!
