Co-op and Careers
Laurier is a leader in providing students opportunities to integrate their academic studies with practical experience. International students have the unique opportunity to participate in Co-op, which allows you to gain marketable skills; raise your potential employment rate; gain networking opportunities and best of all, earn a salary to help pay for your education! Laurier students learn from the best by being involved with leading organizations like American Express, IBM Canada, and Research in Motion (the creators of the Blackberry).
Through co-op, students can gain 8-16 months of paid work experience to compliment their academic studies.
Honours students in arts, science, economics* or business at the Waterloo campus may apply to Laurier's co-op program at the end of first year. Students in double degree programs at Laurier are offered automatic admission to co-op, as are students in the Bachelor of Business Technology Management (BBTM) program at the Brantford campus. Students in double degree programs offers between Laurier and the University of Waterloo are required to participate in co-op.

Laurier also co-hosts the two largest post-secondary employment fairs in the country, featuring eployers looking to hire contrat, summer, co-op, part-time and full-time employees. Laurier Alumni have access to the career centre for the rest of their life! We have International Student Alumni working all over the world for IBM, RBC, Hewlett-Packard, Ernst & Young, etc.
