Moyosore Arewa

2nd year Global Studies

Lagos, Nigeria

Hi! My name is Moyosore Arewa and I am from Lagos, Nigeria. Choosing which university to attend is one of the most important decisions you are going to make and getting other students’ opinions can be really helpful. Being the international student that I am, I was very naïve about how things worked in Canada, and when the time came to apply to universities, I panicked. Eventually, I applied to Laurier, amongst other schools and when I got my offer of admission, I accepted without much hesitation. A year later, here I am with no regrets whatsoever. My first year here was a “blast.” From Orientation week to the day of my last final, I have met the most open-hearted and accepting people. Thanks to the various on-campus clubs and activities, I have been able to build on my social and interpersonal skills, which are crucial for an international student coming from a relatively different type of society.

I am in the Honors Global Studies program and I am hoping to add a business administration diploma to my degree. The Global Studies program allows you a lot of freedom to specialize in your area interest and you also have the opportunity to meet with your professor one on one. My first year at Laurier has been great, and I believe yours can be just as wonderful. I am looking forward to seeing you all on campus.
