The Master of International Public Policy Program (MIPP) is an intensive and innovative graduate program which encourages applications from students across Canada and abroad.
The program offers students a firm grounding in public policy concepts and debates, applied statistics and economics, and the political impacts of globalization. Students then choose to focus on two of four key areas of public policy: human security, environment, international economic relations and global governance.
We have designed the program to be interdisciplinary and international. Our interdisciplinary approach encourages students to develop and apply the analytical tools of political science and economics, but also global studies, geography and environmental studies. The program is international because public policy-makers must now operate at the nexus of domestic priorities and international dynamics; we aim to prepare students to work in this challenging environment. However, what sets MIPP apart from other policy programs is our integrated approach to learning. Integration is essential to understanding the interrelationships, conflicting and complementary, between the various dimensions of a public policy problem. Our committed faculty teaching teams are the ones who make this integrated approach possible.
A new global context exists for policy makers and our program prepares international public policy participants for this changed policy environment. If you are interested in pursuing a career in international or global policy, we invite you to learn more about our program.
