Rachael Diamond
I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours BSc in Chemistry in June 2009 and am currently completing my MSc in Chemistry. My undergraduate thesis project was on Copper speciation in marine systems. My undergraduate experiences in the Smith Lab lead me to the Master’s program at WLU. My Masters project under the supervision of Dr. S. Smith focuses on characterizing dissolved organic matter and it’s binding with copper, zinc and lead. This research is working towards adapting the Biotic Ligand Model for copper, lead and zinc in saltwater systems.
This work is funded by an NSERC CRD with ILZRO and IZA as industrial partners.
