I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at Wilfrid Laurier University. Here, I worked with Jim McGeer in an undergraduate thesis in aquatic toxicology. This thesis work focused on the biotic ligand model (BLM). The research was aimed at developing a prediction model specifically for invertebrates (Daphnia pulex) in soft water containing zinc.

I continued on at Wilfrid Laurier, joining the Masters program in Integrative Biology and am working on furthering the understanding of BLMs in soft waters. I will be developing models that can predict toxicity of cadmium to the invertebrates Daphnia pulex and Hydra attenuata. Trophic transfers will also be studied to assess bioaccumulation in Daphnia pulex and dietary exposures to Hydra attenuata.
