Jessica Milne - MSc (completed August 2010)

Thesis: The dynamics of chroncially bioaccumulated Cd in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) during both moderately hard and soft water exposures.

Currently Studying dentistry at U. of Toronto.

I completed a BSc honours degree in Kinesiology with a Major in Biology at the University of Western Ontario. During my undergraduate degree I developed an interest in fish in freshwater environments. I decided to pursuegraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in the McGeer lab. My research project invovled studying chronic cadmium accumulation between different species of trout. Istudied accumulation within tissues (gill, liver, kidney and muscle) and subcellular fractions within each of these and providedinsight into metal accumulation and detoxification and how this islinked to cell damage and maintaining proper organ function.
