Vulnerable Sector Screening



Vulnerable Sector Screening is a requirement in order to fulfill the practicum component of the program.



PLEASE APPLY FOR A VULNERABLE SECTOR SCREENING CHECK THROUGH YOUR LOCAL POLICE SERVICE.

Some Police services (including OPP) require a letter from the Faculty of Education in order to process the request for a vulnerable sector screening. Please click here in order to request such a letter.

Toronto Police Vulnerable Sector Screening Waiver: You must email Laurie Minor, lminor@wlu.ca to request a copy of the waiver to be emailed to you.

Upon receiving the Toronto Police Waiver, the waiver MUST BE PRINTED ON LEGAL PAPER, IN COLOUR and MAILED to: (do NOT take this form in person to the Toronto Police Station or it will be returned)

*Please Note:
Toronto Police waivers must be MAILED and must include a MONEY ORDER (personal cheques are NOT accepted).  Money orders are made payable to The Toronto Police Service in the amount of $16.95 (which is the cost of a volunteer VSS search). 

You will notice the Toronto Police waiver includes an address label box. Toronto Police asks that you write your complete name and mailing address in this space. Waivers will then be folded and inserted into a window envelope.
