On March 31, 2011, Kindergarten will be added as a three-session additional qualification in Schedule D of the Teachers’ Qualifications Regulation. On September 30, 2011, the present one-session Schedule C Kindergarten qualification will be revoked.

Those who complete Kindergarten Schedule C prior to September 30, 2011 will be deemed to hold Part 1 of the new Schedule D, and may enter directly into Part 2.

The regulation also stipulates that candidates entering the new Schedule D Kindergarten Part 1 must hold a Primary Basic Qualification or ABQ - Primary.

Candidates holding the Schedule C qualification, and thinking of completing the new three-session Schedule D qualification, should note that entrance to the Specialist requires two years of successful teaching experience, including one in the subject in Ontario, certified by a supervisory officer.
