I have been teaching English at an elementary school in Taiwan since October 2008 and I will be working here for a year. I am teaching in an innovative program called English Village, in which the classrooms are set up as authentic locales, like supermarkets, bookstores, and airplane cabins. This makes the learning really fun, engaging, and meaningful for the students. It is also an enjoyable and rewarding teaching experience for me. Taiwanese students are a real joy to teach. The teaching experiences and ideas that I encounter here will serve to enrich my teaching when I return to teach in Canada.
