Finance MFin/PhD Programs
Are you interested in a career in academia or research? Our MFin and PhD research-based degrees are designed to provide students with an exceptional research foundation and teaching opportunities that allow you to successfully launch your academic or research-based career.
Our Master of Finance (MFin) program is targeted at students who want to pursue a career in Finance in positions that demand both extensive finance knowledge as well as excellent quantitative research skills. It is a 20 month degree that consists of course work and a research paper, in addition to two paid four-month work terms with firms in the financial services industry.
Our PhD in Management (Financial Economics) is the first of its kind within a School of Business & Economics in Ontario. The program requires at least two years of course work, which is then followed by two years of research in key areas of financial management: financial markets, corporate finance and governance, options and other structured products. Opportunities for teaching are available.
