What is it?

The "Youth Leaders on Board" initiative offered through the Brantford campus of Wilfrid Laurier University is designed to match undergraduate students with non-profit boards in Brantford, Brant and surrounding communities looking to bring a youth perspective to their boards.  Designed to enhance the leadership and governance knowledge, skills and experiences of students and give them a foundation for a lifelong interest in board development.

Students will participate in a one-day training workshop on the roles and responsibilities of board members, followed by a one-year placement as a student member on a Board of Directors.

When does it run?

The inaugural "Youth Leaders on Board" program will run in the 2011-2012 academic year.
