As for conference opportunities, thanks to the generous support of the Journalism Guild, the program was able to send four students to the CAJ 2014 conference in Vancouver and seven students to the CAJ 2015 conference in Halifax. These students received free airfare, CAJ memberships, conference passes, and 3 nights' accommodation, in order to network with other journalists in a professional setting.

The newly formed DMJ Student Association will continue to support the CAJ conference program, in addition to on-campus speaker series events.
