Core Program
All students at Laurier Brantford must take, at minimum, a required 5.0 credits in Contemporary Studies. Students in Brantford’s other programs (Concurrent Education, Criminology, Health Studies, Journalism, Leadership, etc.) have this requirement woven into the requirements for their programs.
The core program was created in the belief that students need breadth of learning as well as concentration in specific areas of study. People in fields such as teaching, law, health and journalism must be prepared to confront a wide range of contemporary issues. Themes such as globalization, poverty, war and technology cross occupational boundaries.
