This workshop addresses a number of central questions and themes conveyed by social workers currently practicing in a wide range of agency settings. Ethical spaces to be explored include:

  • ethical decision making
  • boundaries in general social work practice and rural settings
  • confidentiality
  • self-determination dilemmas
  • electronic communication/e-counselling practices
  • ethical/legal interfaces
  • ethics and managerialism/neoliberalism.

Time will be reserved for participants to address and discuss specific issues related to their current practices.
