Note - During the month of October, between October 10-15 and October 25-31, we would absolutely need access to either the President, VP:Academic, Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, or Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research to sign applications.
At this time, we could be down no longer than 2 days, as SSHRC grants are due October 15 and NSERC grants are due November 1.
Minimum need access to a signatory.
A photocopier to save a signed copy of each grant.
Mail services to send to Ottawa.
NSERC grants are submitted through an online system, so before the November 1 deadline. Need access to the Internet.
2. Computing Resources
i) Hardware
- 2 P.C.s., capable of running software listed in section (ii).
- One laser printer with regular printer cartridges.
- Access to a photocopier (does not have to be located in our area)
ii) Software
- Central Administrative Databases - SCT Banner, Novell and email access
- PC-based - Windows, Microsoft Office (including MS Access)
iii) Networking / Communications
- Connections between PCs, printers, and central network
- Internet access
3. Information Resources
Access to the Banner database is the critical data needed.
Additional critical files are on the v: drive (Graduate Studies and Research drive)
4. Space, Furnishings, and Other "Infrastructure" Needs
Physical space requirements :
- work space - 144 square feet
Furnishings (work stations and chairs) for 2 people
2 telephones with long-distance capabilities, and required cabling and communication lines for same
Adding machine/printing calculator
Some kind of filing ability, even if only in the form of "bankers' boxes" temporarily

No information on specific hard drives of Research Office users is critical to operations should a disruption occur.
Critical information is stored on the v: drive (Graduate Studies drive). Therefore, no backup necessary for a secure location.
Furnishings needed for staff mentioned in resources.
