Ergonomic/MSD Prevention Training



The following training should be provided to employees who are exposed to ergonomic hazards or may be at risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD's).

Ergonomics/MSD Prevention for Facilities Staff

This session provides useful information for custodial, trades and grounds staff on what an Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) is, what causes MSDs, workplace hazards that contribute to MSDs and how to prevent MSDs.

Musculoskeletal Hazards & Office Ergonomics

This session will introduce the concept of ergonomics and demonstrate how it can be applied to the office environment. It will give useful information on what Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD's)are, their causes, workplace hazards that contribute to MSDs and how to prevent them. The session will also provide useful information on proper workstation set-up.

Manual Material Handling

Improper lifting techniques can lead to back pain. It can also cause both acute and serious chronic injury. This session will discuss how you can safely lift, shift and move materials in the workplace. This session is generally offered in conjunction with other general health and safety topics (House Keeping, Ladder Safety and Slips, Trips and Falls).
