Asbestos Awareness

This session explains what asbestos is, and where it can be found. It also discusses the potential health hazards associated with exposure to asbestos and the precautions necessary to reduce the incidence of exposure.

Designated Substances

This session reviews the Designated Substance Regulation (Ont. Reg. 490/09 and 259/10) and will discuss the potential health effects to the worker.  It will also review measures and procedures required of the employer to protect the safety of the worker.

Mould Awareness

The purpose of this presentation is to provide training to maintenance and custodial staff that will permit them to perform "small scale" mould remediation work effectively and safety. This training will provide information on what mould is, where it can be found, the potential health effects, individual susceptibility, safe versus unsafe types, and remediation levels and procedures.

Respiratory Protection

This session will provide employees with a general understanding of respirator fit factors and methods for performing basic respirator testing. Employees will understand how to select the proper size, and how to perform fit checks to ensure that the respirator will protect them from airborne contaminants.
