Laurier's Contract Labour Policies must be followed by all contractors prior to initiating work at Laurier.
CONTRACT LABOUR POLICY
Advance planning and quality site preparations are important for a safer, environmentally conscious, well organized construction site. The following document is a policy that applies to all contractors, general contractors and subcontractors that provide services to Laurier University. CONTRACTORS IN GOOD STANDING
In order to be considered a contractor in good standing, the following documentation must be received by the EOHS Department and be valid:
- Proof of Insurance
- Valid WSIB clearance certificate (only valid for a maximum of 90 days)
- WSIB Safety Record
- Current Health and Safety Policy - (must be reviewed annually)
NOTE: The Contractor in Good standing list does not provide approval for work at Laurier University.
In order to be approved for work at Wilfrid Laurier University all applicable documents outlined in the Contract Labour Policy must be received by the Laurier Project Administrator and considered acceptable with respect to the specific project. The project administrator will review the documents taking into account the scope of the intended work. The Project Administrator will consult with the EOHS Department as required.All documentation must be valid for the duration of the project or must be resubmitted. Should the scope of the project change, a review of the submitted contract labour documentation should be conducted by the Laurier Project Administrator to ensure it is acceptable.
