Scents in the Workplace

In January of 2003, concerns were raised about employee sensitivity to chemicals and perfumes in the workplace; these concerns were brought to the attention of the University EOHS committee. As a result, a survey was distributed the Laurier community, to provide the committee with information on the use of scented products and their effects on employees.

After reviewing responses, the attached bulletin has been developed. This bulletin and poster were designed to create an awareness of scents in the workplace; it is not university policy. Both the awareness bulletin and poster are available below. Paper copies of the awareness poster are also available from SHERM. Please contact SHERM at ext. 2874 if you have any questions or would like to request a poster.
