Please be aware that as exchange students you are responsible to pay for certain fees during your exchange term at Wilfrid Laurier. Please read this information carefully and budget accordingly. These are not tuition fees.
Be sure to review the insurance plans that you will be enrolled in before purchasing insurance from your home country.
Non Academic Student Fees
All students will be charged certain student fees based on the subject of study and the amount of courses that you enroll in. For budgeting purchases, you should plan to pay approximately $460 per term for these fees.
The student services fee will give you access to our state of the art Athletic Centre, Student Union & Centre, a range of other student services, and a city bus pass that you can use unlimited during your term at Wilfrid Laurier. You may be able to OPT out (not pay) some fees if you complete the necessary steps BEFORE the deadline. Be sure to check back on this site http://www.wlu.ca/page.php?grp_id=1272&p=5029 for more information. It is currently out of date, but will be updated before you arrive.

Universal Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)
UHIP is compulsory because you are not covered by the government health plan in Ontario. The charge will be approximately $250 per term. More information about UHIP can be found at the following links:
Health & Dental Plans
Student extended plans provide additional coverage for services that are not covered under UHIP. These extended plans ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE HEALTH INSURANCE PLANS FROM UHIP. We recommend that you review these plans and take advantage of the benefits during your time in Canada.
All Undergraduate Students will be enrolled in the Undergraduate Health and Dental Plan. More information about this plan can be found here: http://www.wlusu.com/services-section/health-dental/
The Plan Fees for 2013-14 will be 107.66 for Health and 101.05 for Dental for a total of 208.71. You have the option of opting out of these plans ONLY IF YOU HAVE EQUAL COVERAGE. You can contact this email if you have any questions: email@example.com

The Plan Fees for 2013-14 are $348.33 for Health and $172.23 for Dental. You have the option of opting out of these plans ONLY IF YOU HAVE EQUAL COVERAGE.
