Kitchener-Waterloo

Kitchener-Waterloo is linked to Toronto and London on the VIA Rail railway system. Onward connections to Niagara Falls, Montreal, New York and Chicago are possible. The Kitchener train station is located near the corner of Victoria and Weber Streets. If you have a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC), you could get a 40 percent reduction off regular fare, plus an extra 10 percent for advance reservations of at least one week. Waterloo International Airport and Other Airports

The Region of Waterloo International Airport is owned and operated by the Region of Waterloo. In 2000 the Region of Waterloo International Airport was the 12th busiest in Canada. The airport is opened 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It offers round trip flights three times per day (7 days per week) to Detroit and connects Waterloo Region to over 900 cities in 160 countries. The other airports close to the K-W area are Pearson International Airport in Toronto, and the airport in London 100 km south-west. If you need to get to Pearson International, call Airways Transit/Airporter (519) 886-2121. They have regularly scheduled departures five times a day from a variety of locations in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Inter-City Bus

K-W is linked to Toronto, and the rest of Canada and the United States through Greyhound Lines of Canada. Trentway-Wagar Inc. Both companies are found at the K-W Bus Terminal at Charles and Gaukel Streets in Kitchener, one block west of King Street.

Buses run frequently every day. For instance, the buses to Toronto run hourly between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., with extra buses every half-hour during afternoon/evening peak times -2:30 to 8:00 p.m. Your student ID card will give you an extra discount on all regular fares.
