Mandate
The mandate for the Laurier Office in China, located in Chongqing, China is, firstly, to serve as central support unit for Wilfrid Laurier University academic initiatives in China (including Hong Kong and Macau). Secondly, the Office will focus on establishing relationships with Chongqing universities, the Municipal Government of Chongqing and the Minstry of Science and Technology. Thirdly, the Office will pursue new contacts and relationships with public and private institutions in Chongqing.
The Laurier Office in China will:

Serve as a vehicle to strengthen academic cooperation with universities, scholars and scientific/educational institutions

Assist with student and faculty mobility initiatives

Explore opportunities for Wilfrid Laurier University programs that target professional and executive training

Promote Wilfrid Laurier University Research and Scholarship through the organization and co-organization of conferences, speakers and study visits to China, in conjunction with the appropriate Faculties and the Research Office

Provide advice and administrative support for visits by University personnel

Under the guidance of the Manager, Liaison, make available information about Laurier to students and their families interested in study at Laurier
