I am currently in my last year of an Honors in Biology. For my direct studies I study a wide range of Cuscuta species examining the pollen to ovule ratio (P/O), which is an indirect tool to study their breeding system. After collecting enough data I hope to compare the P/O ratios for all the Cuscuta species that I have examined and try to indentify evolutionary trends in the breeding system in this genus. With my research I get to use a Nikon SMZ1500 microscope and PAX-IT software that allows me to take highly magnified pictures of the pollen grains.

When I am not in the lab/class, I like to stay extremely active. I enjoy playing all sports, working out, volunteering, working as a Chemistry Instructional Assistant and hanging out with friends and family.

If you have any questions involving what I do or study, please feel free to email me at iann6090@wlu.ca.
