NSERC Idea of Innovation (I2I)

- Up to $125,000 (Phase 1, up to 12 months in length) and up to $250,000 (Phase 2, up to 24 months in length) in funding
- Supports salaries of research personnel, direct research expenses, patenting costs, market research and commercialization related travel
- Phase 1 is fully supported by NSERC. Phase 2 requires contribution from private partner
- Four deadlines annually
OCE Institutional Proof of Principle (iPOP)
- Requires demonstration of benefits to Ontario
- Funding between $10,000 and $50,000
- Supports salaries of research personnel, direct research expenses, patenting costs, market research, business advisory services and commercialization related travel
OCE Market Readiness

- Targeted towards creation of a Ontario-based start-up company or technology transfer to existing Ontario-based company
- Delivered in 3 phases

- Supports salaries of research personnel, direct research expenses, patenting costs, market research, business advisory services and commercialization related travel
